Vinyl Plank Glue Down Instructions Part 3

FINISHING AND MAINTENANCE

When you have finished laying your floor, use a three-section 45.4 kg roller to roll across the length of the floor to flatten any ridges and make the seams level. Clean up any remaining or spilled adhesive with a damp cloth.

Allow 5 to 7 days before washing the floor to allow the planks to adhere to the sub floor. Sweep regularly to remove surface grit and dust. Never use excessive amounts of water when cleaning the planks-use a damp cloth or mop and rinse with clean water. When necessary a mild detergent can be added to the water. Never use wax, polish, abrasive cleaner or souring agents, as they may dull or distort the finish. CAUTION: Planks are slippery when wet.

Do not allow pets with unclipped nails to scratch or damage the floor.

High heels can damage floors.

Use protective pads under furniture. If it becomes necessary to move any heavy fixtures or appliances over the flooring on casters or dollies, the flooring should be protected with 0.64cm or thicker plywood, hardboard or other underlayment panels.

Avoid exposure to direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time.Use drapes or blinds to minimize direct sunlight during peak sunlight hours.

Use doormats at entrance ways to protect the floor from discoloring. Avoid using rubber-backed rugs,as they may stain or discolor the vinyl flooring. If you have an asphalt driveway, use a heavy-duty doormat at your main door,as chemicals in asphalt can cause vinyl flooring to yellow.

It is a good idea to save a few planks in case of accidental damdage.Boards can be replaced or repaired by a flooring professional.
